A typical Wednesday at Salitrillo

Each Wednesday, we come as a team to help the kids with English. I had planned an activity making name necklaces to practice “My name is…”, using yarn and post-it notes. I did not realize that the sticky side was the short side, nor did I realize how difficult the task would be for second graders. We all needed many more fingers and thumbs.

The kids were adorable, working so hard to put the letters on each little sticky note and then putting them on the yarn. I could not work fast enough. Fortunately, Edwin Alexander joined our big group and helped the little ones get their name necklaces made.

I realize I need to have a way of identifying each child. Will bring strips of paper, ask them to write their name very clearly, then take a photo of each child holding the name below their face. I can then print a photo and learn their names.

Blessings to Louisa and Lulu, who shared some wonderful learning activities. I need help with these little kids. My experience has been with 4-6th grades.

Here are a few pictures of the little ones.
