Day 3

Yesterday, August 4th was a fun day for me. We had a wonderful breakfast at Donn’s friend Joyce’s house and then we walked through downtown Santa Barbara to a small park to watch Donn’s grandson, Aiden,  do some very cool moves on the trapeze. Santa Barbara is a wonderful walking city. As I mentioned before, Old Spanish Days (La Fiesta) is going on this weekend, so the town is packed with tourists. Walking around town with a local has its advantages. It also helps that Trevor, Donn’s son, is lending us his car.

FYI: We have decided to leave a day early, Monday., This will take some of the pressure off our drive through Mexico.

He floats through the air with the greatest of ease, that daring young man on the flying trapeze.

For the last couple of days have been spent with friends and family and lots of eating. Lots of Mexican food……now here we are……talking about going on a diet and avoiding Mexican food while in Mexico. That’s a tall order.

Today, Monday, we are hitting the road early to avoid the heat. Blythe, California is on the Arizona border and only about 6 hours. That’s todays destination. We’ve bought a “just in case” recharging kit for the car’s air conditioner. I’ll use it. When I need it.

Now into the furnace of Arizona.

I really enjoy the photos, learning more about Donn’s family and hearing from you, Nora. Beautiful photo of you two in your matching shirts♡ It sounds like a really wonderful stop along the way of your journey to SMA!
